As of 5/3/11 there are still campsites available for reservation though the State Park Office (785/842-8562). If you are a participant and you have friends or family that will be dropping you off, picking you up, visiting you at your campsite during your stay or coming to watch you on race day, they will be required to purchase a vehicle permit. They will be stopped at the entrance station to purchase their $5.00/daily vehicle permit before entering the park. Those vehicles entering the campground on Race Day to watch the race should be in place no later than 5 am to avoid the no entry into the campground cutoff time. If they aren't able to get into the campground with their vehicle, they will be shown to a parking area and a shuttle will take them near the campground where they can walk (1/2 mile) to you or the spectator / expo area. (Distance on the main entrance road from CG#3 to the swim portion of the race is approximately 1 mile - WALKING ONLY on race day.)
If you are planning a practice run, please be prepared to purchase a daily vehicle permit also, unless you are cycling into the park.
