Fishing Report - Last Update: 11/5/2014

Species Rating Size Baits, Method, & Location
Channel and Hybrid Catfish Good 14-24" Anglers are having luck with stinkbait. Hybrid catfish are beginning to eclipse 15" and should begin contributing to the fishery soon.
Largemouth Bass Good 8-18" Fishing remains good on sunny days for smaller fish. Please consider harvesting fish under the 13"-18" protected slot length limit.
Crappie Poor 6-12" Crappie can be found at times near the fishing docks, but it's spotty.
Bluegill/Redear Sunfish Fair 7-10" Bluegill and redears will still readily take a worm under a bobber on sunny days.
General Comments

Both channel catfish and hybrid catfish are present.  Hybrid catfish can be identified by a vertical brand behind their right pectoral fin under their dorsal fin.  Channel catfish stocked in 2013 can be identified by a similar vertical mark except behind their left pectoral fin.  Both species have their adipose fin clipped.  Harvest regulations for channel catfish, blue catfish, and their hybrids in Montgomery County State Fishing Lake include a 15" minimum length limit and a five fish daily creel.

Anglers should note that there are no alcoholic beverages allowed on the area.

The maintained boat ramp at Montgomery State Fishing Lake is usable.
