Fishing Report - Last Update: 3/11/2014
|Rating||Size||Baits, Method, & Location|
|Walleye||Fair||15-28 inches||There are some very nice walleye out here now as we caught them up to 8 pounds during our fall netting. They can be found around Cedar Point, the dam, and off Walleye Point.|
|White Bass/Wipers||Good||9-16 inches||The white bass and wipers were found lake wide when we did our fall netting in October. The best angler reports, however, have come from the Cedar Point boat ramp where crappie anglers continue to catch fair to good numbers of whites with the occasional 12-14 inch wiper mixed in. There are also good numbers of whites off Oak Hill with some very nice 15-16 inch fish available to anglers.|
|Crappie||Good||8-13 inches||Pretty much all of the crappie angling is taking place off the breakwaters at the Cedar Point boat ramp. Catches have been very sporadic with good numbers showing up some days and things a bit slower other days. Minnows have been working ok, but jigs and small Kastmasters seem to be working better. Crappie can also be found around any of the other marked brush piles in the reservoir. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times to go.|
ICE UPDATE: The ice is mostly gone across the reservoir and the Marina boat ramp is open now. The Cedar Point ramp is closed, however, as the ice has pushed one of the breakwaters into the ramp and blocked it.
Anglers can now find GPS coordinates, descriptions, and histories of some of the major brush piles in Lovewell. Simply follow this link Good Fishing Spots and select the individual brush pile to find out more information.
