Special Notice:

Licenses and permits may be purchased in Scott City at the following vendors: Alco, Pamida, Scott County Hardware and Wild Wings Hunting.

SPECIAL EVENT: March 31, 2012 is the final day to purchase Annual Vehicle permits, Annual Camping and 14-Day Camping permits at the discounted Off-Season price. The Park office will be open on March 31, 2012 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and the Taos cabin will be available for anyone interested in touring the cabin. A vehicle permit will not be required to enter the park for this event.

Shower buildings are closed for the winter. Lakeview uitilty campground is also closed. Utility sites 1 - 15 are available in the Circle Drive campground throughout the winter months.

The Off-Season prices began on Saturday, October 1, 2011 and will run through March 31, 2012. Daily vehicle permits are $3.70 per day and daily camping permits $7.50 per night. Reservations are not accepted during the off-season but camping is still allowed. Come enjoy the park during the winter season at reduced prices and view the beautiful winter scenery.

Trout season began October 15, 2011 and ends April 15, 2012. A trout permit is required for anyone fishing for or possessing trout and applies to anglers age 16 and older, including those 65 and older, with a limit of 5 per day. Anglers 15 and younger may fish for trout without a permit if they adhere to the 2 trout per day limit. In addition, all residents 16 through 64 years old and non-residents 16 and older must also have a valid fishing license. The permit is valid for the current calendar year. A vehicle permit is also required. Trout was stocked in both the pond and the lake.

Navajo and Taos cabins: Each cabin rents for $75.00 per night with a $12.00 reservation fee. Weekends require the reservation for two nights. Each cabin sleeps six and provide a full size bed, futon that lays down to a full size bed, a couch and a twin size murphy bed. Bedding is not provided. Both cabins have air conditioning / heating, a restroom with a shower, refridgerator, stove, microwave, pots, pans and dishes. The deck and patio provide a table and chairs, charcoal grill and campfire ring. Bedding and shower items are not provided. Please bring charcoal if you plan to use the grill. Pets are not allowed inside the cabins. Cabins are expected to be cleaned and trash removed prior to leaving. There will be a $50.00 charge if the cabin is not properly cleaned.

RVs and campers are not allowed at the cabin sites. One tent is allowed for household dependants only. A tent pad is provided on the north side of the cabin. Please do not place a tent, volleyball net, horseshoe stakes, etc. in the grass as it may damage the sprinkler system. Two vehicles are allowed per cabinlocation. Any additional vehicles need to park in the parking area by the Shelter House. Please do not park on the grass! No pets are allowed in the cabins and must be in a kennel or on a leash outside at all locations in the park including the cabins. Cabin pictures may be viewed in the photo gallery.

Circle Drive and Lakeview utility campgrounds allow one (1) camping unit or tent per campsite. Tents are not allowed with campers and RVs unless approved by the Park office or Park Manager and must be accompanied with a Special Permit. Vehicle and camping permits may be purchased at the park office or paid via Self Pay located at the park entrance or in Circle Drive campgound. Thank you!

REMINDER: Please pick up and properly dispose of your trash. Dumpsters are provided at several locations throughout the park. Thank you!

Pets are not allowed inside the cabins or restrooms! Thank you!

Lake Scott's office is located at the entrance of the Park. Weekday office hours are 8:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Occasionally park employees attend training and meetings, therefore, the office may be closed. Please call in advance if you are needing licenses or permits to ensure the office is open.

Due to the pine tree disease recently discovered in Western Kansas firewood is not allowed to be brought into the Park with the exception of treated wood or construction scrap wood. Firewood brought into the park may be confiscated and immediately burned. Thank you!

Lake Scott State Park is open year around. Fees may be paid at the park office or at any of the self pay stations.

We are participants of the Kansas Green Team Recycling Program. Aluminum cans may be dropped in the plastic container at the Circle Drive (utility) camp ground. Thank you for recycling!

Park Fees, Permits, & Licenses

Permits and licenses are available at the park office Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Office hours may vary throughout the week due to lack of staff and staff training. Please call before your visit to make sure someone will be available to help you, or if you need assistance with your license: (620) 872-2061.

Daily and annual permits and licenses are available at our park office. Self-pay stations are available when the park office is closed. Don’t forget that the online system is available as well for license purchases from your home.

· If you are purchasing a license for the FIRST TIME, please remember to bring your social security number and driver’s license. If you've already purchased a license, please bring your KDWPT number or social security number and driver’s license. Second Annual Vehicle permits are longer offered or available for 2012.

Notices

· Verizon (Alltel) has erected a new cell phone tower at the northeast side of the park. Cell phone service is now available at most park locations.

· Lake Scott State Park is a State Fishing Lake . Please pay attention to state statutes and regulations regarding boating, swimming, and fishing at our lake.
