A Third Rustic Cabin: Our rentals cabins, as well as those across the state, have steadily increased in popularity by providing unique opportunities and alternative ways of camping and enjoying the outdoors. Demand for cabins at Cedar Bluff State Park continues to rise and as a result we recieved approval to develop our sixth rental cabin. The park staff, with the aid of a new AmeriCorp Member, have recently completed the construction of our third rustic cabin. This new cabin is located just across the road from the Bluffton Area's north showerhouse, it has been placed on-line and is available for use. If considering a stay in one of our rental cabin don't wait too long; weekends as well as weekdays are going fast!

A New Playground:

Playground

For quite some time we have been working to upgrade and provide more modern playground equipment... Well it looks like we are on our way! The second piece of a new development has been set in place! In addition to the NEOS 360, we have installed a new, more traditional playground set. The NEOS has been VERY popular and this addtional will make the location and opportunities that much better! A second playground is set to be installed within the Overland Campground in mid-October.

Accessibility Improvements for the Disabled:

ADA2

Through a Bureau of Reclamation Title 28 cost share grant, we received federal funding to

ADA1

improve handicap accessibility within certain areas of Cedar Bluff State Park to aid in meeting the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Improvements include: access to hydrants and shelters; new sidewalks, fire rings and picnic tables, and the renovation of utility campsites. There are eight utility campsites which have been renovated to meet ADA specifications, six are within the Bluffton Area and two are within the Page Creek Area. These campsites are now surfaced with concrete and include an accessible fire ring and picnic table. All of these sites are open for use by anyone with the exception of Wagon Rut #29; to use this campsite a disabled placard is required.
