Wildlife Habitat Incentive Program (WHIP)

Wildlife Habitat Incentive Program (WHIP)

Wildlife Habitat Incentive Program (WHIP) is the only program with wildlife as a primary goal by providing the opportunity to develop wildlife habitat on land to do practices that are not eligible for other programs. KDWP has entered into a Contributory Agreement with NRCS to assist with delivery of WHIP. Wildlife Biologists will develop a management plan which includes habitat improvement projects. Examples of projects include planting native grass, shrubs or food plots, converting cool season grass to native, renovating wetlands and hedgerows, and brush control.
