Conservation Security Program (CSP)

Conservation Security Program (CSP) – one of the newest federal programs that rewards landowners who have implemented good conservation practices rather than paying those to develop needed conservation practices. There are three types of payments are based on what extent you have managed your cropland, rangeland and pasture. Wildlife habitat is one of the resource concerns that must be present to qualify for higher levels of payment. Sign-up is limited to selected watersheds throughout the state and rotate annually. In order to be accepted in the program you must apply when the watershed you have land in is the one selected for the year. For more information: http://www.nrcs.usda.gov/programs/csp/
