Annual event a big draw in northcentral Kansas

WEBBER -- Lovewell State Park has scheduled its Free Park Entrance Days for Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 8-9. In conjunction with the Free Park Entrance Days, park staff will sponsor the 3rd Annual Chili Cookoff on Sunday, Sept. 9. Pre-registration for this event is due no later than 9 a.m. on the day of event. Prizes will be awarded to the first-, second-, and third-place chili entries. All entries will be eligible for prizes by drawing. Judging tickets will be available at 12:30 p.m., and judging will begin at 1 p.m. A $2 donation per ticket to judge entries will be collected. Donations will be used for prizes for the park's many special events throughout the year.
