STATE PARKS KICK START SPRING WITH SPECIAL EVENTS, FREE DAYS

Free Park Entrance Days, other events scheduled for April

Each year, Kansas state parks conduct special events, some in conjunction with Free Park Entrance Days , some to celebrate a special historical event or geological attribute of an individual park, and others just for entertainment.

Events are diverse and may include anything from a marathon race to boating courses and equestrian events. Many are educational and all are designed to enhance the fun of visiting Kansas state parks. For more information on state park events, visit the Events Calendar .

The following is a list of events for April:

  • April 21 -- Earth Day, school educational programs at Cross Timbers State Park , 620-637-2213;
  • April 22-23 -- Free Park Entrance Days at Kanopolis State Park , 785-546-2565;
  • April 22 -- Earth Day volunteer work day at Kanopolis State Park, 785-546-2565;
  • April 22 -- OK Kids Day at Lovewell State Park , 785-753-4981;
  • April 28 & July 2 -- Summer weekend educational programs at Cross Timbers State Park, 620-637-2213;
  • April 29 -- Boater safety course at Cheney Boathouse, Cheney State Park , 316-542-3664; and
  • April 29-30 -- Revolution Racing Spring Fling Bike Race at Clinton State Park , 785-842-8562.
