Elk City Waterfowl Report

Waterfowl numbers  Few teal seen in the area, but numbers can change quickly with weather fronts.
Water level Reservoir during the summer of 2014 was flooded up 8 ft in July.  Shoreline has some vegetation after drawdown, but Corps of Engineers held water up 1.5 ft above normal pool.
Hunting conditions Wetlands have excellent moist soil vegetation. Very Rank.
Expected hunting success  Fair to poor as teal move through.
Comments For updated waterfowl numbers and weather conditions call (620) 331-6820. Individuals utilizing the wildlife area need to be aware of the refuge boundaries. Maps can be obtained at the Fisheries & Wildlife office (below the dam) or at the State Park (on the lake side).
