Elk City Waterfowl Report

Waterfowl numbers  4000-5000, mixed bag of mostly divers, teal, pintails, shovelers, and a few more mallards showing up. Some white-fronts moving through.
Water level Reservoir up 0.3 feet.
Hunting conditions Wetlands have excellent but rank moist soil vegetation and very good water  but starting to freeze. Quaker/Chetopa Creek access road is open during duck season. Some mud flats on the shoreline.
Expected hunting success  Good conditions, depending upon weather and reservoir water levels. 
Comments For updated waterfowl numbers and weather conditions call (620) 331-6820. Individuals utilizing the wildlife area need to be aware of the refuge boundaries. Maps can be obtained at the Fisheries & Wildlife office (below the dam) or at the State Park (on the lake side).
