Elk City Waterfowl Report

Waterfowl numbers  A few hundred ducks, mixed bag of teal, pintails, shovelers, a few mallards and some white-fronts moving through.
Water level Reservoir up 0.3 feet.
Hunting conditions Wetlands have excellent but rank moist soil vegetation and very good water. Quaker/Chetopa Creek access road is open for the youth season.
Expected hunting success  Good conditions, depending upon reservoir water levels.
Comments For updated waterfowl numbers and weather conditions call (620) 331-6820. Individuals utilizing the wildlife area need to be aware of the refuge boundaries. Maps can be obtained at the Fisheries & Wildlife office (below the dam) or at the State Park (on the lake side).
