2012 Dove Season Results:
In 2012, wheat and sunflower foodplots were planted to attract doves to the area. Hunters were surveyed and 20 hunters reported harvesting 47 doves throughout the first 9 days of the season. Preparations for next season have already begun, as 2 acres of wheat were drilled in October to be utilized as dove fields in 2013! In addition, 3 acres of sunflowers will be planted in the spring to attract doves. Hopefully hunters can enjoy good dove shooting at the Nemaha Wildlife Area in 2013!!!
