2013 Dove Management Area at Jamestown Wildlife Area

Sunflowers sprouted very late due to the drought and dove use should improve throughout the season as the plants ripen. Two unharvested wheat fields will be manipulated prior to opening day.

Doves are also attracted to the shallow water areas found on the area.

Field #2 – 19 acre wheat field - From the intersection of 30th Rd and the Gun Club Marsh Rd., ½ mile south on the east side of the road, directly north of the Gun Club Dam. Open to all hunters for the entire season.

Field #3 – 15 acre sunflower field – From the intersection of K-28, Vale Rd. and 20 Rd., one mile north to the Greenwing Marsh Parking lot. The field is located directly west of the parking lot. Open to all hunters for the entire season.

Mandatory Daily Hunter Survey permits are required and are available at the Information Centers.
