North from I-70 exit 249 to Watkins Rd, then east 1 mile to Gerard Rd, then north 1/2 mile to entrance.

Originally a borrow pit for highway construction. Opened in 1977 as a state fishing lake.
Due to low water levels over the last 3 years, the lake is closed to vehicle access and fishing. Saline State Fishing Lake has 39 acres of water surrounded by 39 acres of land. Facilities include a boat ramp, fishing piers, a vault toilet and several fishing access points.

A 10PM to 6AM curfew is normally in place from April 1 to September 30 annually to help regulate maintenance costs and fish harvest.

The area is closed to all activities except by special permit from October 1through March 31.

Some hunts are offered through the state-wide special hunt program.
