Dark colored spinnerbaits or crankbaits along water willow or rocky structure. Topwater lures can also be productive along the water willow

mostly on liver, can be caught using various shad imitating lures

shad sides and other prepared bait. Many nice catfish were seen up shallow during electrofishing.

Drifting along the flats with a jig and nightcrawler

crappie

1/2-2 lbs.

Crappie spawn should be over and the crappie should be found in deeper water around channel breaks or other structure try using jigs tipped with a minnow.

General Comments

The city of Yates Center has signed up for the CFAP program. A city permit is no longer required.

The lake is full and the water temp is in the upper 70s.
