Size

Baits, Method, & Location

Black Bass

Good

1/2 to 4 pounds

The lake has good numbers of both largemouth and smallmouth. The lake has surprisingly high numbers of large bass. They can be tough to catch because they are very educated at this lake.

Bluegill and Redear

Slow

Up to 1/4 pound

Sunfish numbers struggle at this lake. The population is dominated by small fish with a few large fish mixed in.

Channel Catfish

Good

3/4 to 3 pounds

The lake is in the Urban Stocking Program and is frequently stocked with 12 to 18 inch fish. 4,100 catchable sized catfish were stocked at the lake in 2011. These stockings allow for good harvest rates of eater size cats.

General Comments

This is a generic winter fishing report covering the fishing forecast for the upcoming 2012 fishing season. Regular weekly fishing reports will resume during the month of March. The Winter Fishing Opportunity section of the report will be periodically updated should good information become available. Good Luck!

Pott. # 2 is noted for family outings, scenic views, catch and release bass fishing, harvest of small crappie and channel catfishing. The channel cat population is assisted with two fish feeders and maintained with frequent stockings of 12+ inch fish from March through September.
