Channel Catfish

Fair/Good

Up to 10 lbs.

Fall netting indicated a moderate abundance of channel catfish. Some larger catfish are available to anglers as the biggest catfish captured was over 8 lbs.

Walleye

Fair/Good

Up to 10 lbs.

Fall netting indicated a low to moderate abundance of walleye. However, it is still believed that there is a good population of walleye at Hillsdale. The biggest walleye captured during fall netting was 7 lbs.

Crappie

Good

Fish are 9 to 11 inches and few up to 13 inches

Good numbers of crappie were captured during fall netting. Try fishing jigs or minnows near brushpiles or fishing along rocky areas during the spawn.

White Bass

Fair

Up to 2 lbs.

Fall netting indicated a moderate abundance of white bass. Most of the white bass captured were 12-15 inches in length. Try fishing jigs off mainlake points for white bass.

Largemouth
Bass

Fair

Up to 4 lbs.

Spring electrofishing indicated a low abundance of largemouth bass. Some larger bass are available to anglers as the biggest bass captured was over 3 lbs. A research project aimed at improving the bass population will be continued in 2013 at Hillsdale Reservoir.

Jigs tipped with a nightcrawler fished on the flats or in the coves.

BOAT RAMP CONDITIONS: All ramps are usuable.

WATER LEVEL: The water level is currently 0.86 ft. above conservation pool.
