Summer Fishing Opportunities RED HOT   For fishing tips or more current information provided by fishermen like yourself click Got to Fish and look for your lake.
Blue-Green Algae Warning Level   KDHE re-sampled the lake last week and the lake will remain at a warning level for HAB's.  You can still fish the lake but don't let you or your pets drink the water, don't let pets eat the dried algae, clean fish fillets with clean potable water and wash skin or pet fur with clean water if come into contact.  Take a look at the new pictures.
Perry News Letter Good to Excellent 4 pages (lots of pics) Twice a year I will be publishing a newsletter with Perry and other waters in my District. The newest issue is available now and features Perry and Holton Banner Creek. If you would like the newsletter e-mailed to you click on Perry/Banner Creek  Newsletter and fill in the blanks. I'll be working on a new newsletter shortly!
Black Crappie Fair up to 1.0 lbs. Tube jig around the piers, brush piles and off the end of the dock.  These fish have scattered for the summer.
Bluegill Fair-Good up to 0.43 lbs. Small jig or spinner tipped with worm around the brush piles, Curly leaf pondweed has died back.  May electrofishing data: we sampled 247 bluegill in just over an hour, the largest was 8.2" and weighed 0.5 lbs.  These fish were in very good body condition, just right for the frying pan.
Channel Catfish Fair-Good up to 8.0 lbs Filled the fish feeders for the last time on Thursday so you'll have a couple weeks before the feeders go dry.  Fish feeders are feeding sinking feed at 7, 7:30 am, noon, 7 and 7:30 pm.  Shad sides work great this time of year, stink baits under the feeders.
Largemouth Bass Fair-Good up to 4.0 lbs. Spinner baits worked slow around the brush piles and off the end of the piers.  We sampled 231 largemouth bass in 1.02 hours of electrofishing time or 182.35 Stock length fish (8" or greater)/hour.  The largest lm bass sampled was 4.31 lbs and these bass were in fair body condition, little skinner than I'd like to see.
Redear Sunfish Fair up to 0.4 lbs. Small hunk of worm or jig in the brush piles with the bluegill.  We did sample a few redear as well, 15 with the largest being 8.5" and weighing 0.6 lbs and in very good body condition.
General Comments

I see a few of you have been to my new Facebook page.  I've been posting a bunch of photos: walleye egg collection, stocking and electrofishing pictures of lakes that are not in the fishing reports.  Just click on this link hopefully you'll LIKE what you see!

The Fish Feeder on the east side of the lake will be removed after the Labor Day weekend due to the amount of trash and a picnic table being thrown into the lake!

May electrofishing pictures, lots of bass and good crappie and bluegill, click on Brown State above the fishing report to see some of these fish. Click on the fish species and it will take you to the updated Fishing Forecast.
