Students must complete the online portion of the course prior to attending the field day. The online course is accessed by links at http://kdwpt.state.ks.us/news/Services/Education/Hunter/Internet-assisted-Course. Each student will be issued a pre-test over the online materials.

All students will be tested over the Internet course material. This pre-test will be administered at the beginning of the Field Day. A passing score of 22 correct answers out of 25 questions is required to proceed with the rest of the course. Students failing to achieve the minimum score of 22 will be dismissed from the class.

The field walk session will be as much like an actual hunt as possible. It is recommended to wear boots or walking shoes and long pants.

Instructor Notes for Students: This will be an internet assisted class, so pay particular attention to the details about the on line course. Students will be required to bring evidence of course completion to the instructor the day of the class or they will not be allowed to take the pre-test--no exceptions.

To get to the Police Range, proceed west on 10th Street to Patton Road. From 10th Street and Patton Road, continue west on 10th Street approximately 2 miles. You will pass Fuller Brush and the entrance to the Great Bend Expo/Dragstrip entrance. Continue west on 10th Street to the end of the cedar tree belt to an asphalt road heading back to the south. Take that road south to the police range which is on the west side of the road.

Please watch the weather and dress accordingly including sturdy shoes. There will be activities outside, rain or shine.

Lunch will not be served. Students may bring a lunch, or go into Great Bend for lunch. Lunch break will be approximately 45 minutes.
