Waterfowl numbers

15,000 ducks mostly mallards, widgeon and teal.  A good mix of divers.

3000 Canada Geese and 400 Snows.

ATTENTION:  3 WHOOPING CRANES ARE CURRENTLY ON THE CEDAR BLUFF WILDLIFE AREA.  THEY ARE FEDERALLY PROTECTED AND IT IS UNLAWFUL TO INTENTIONALLY DISTURB OR HARASS WHOOPING CRANES.

 Mallard Migration Rank: 5   (1=worst 10=best)

Water level Reservoir is 22 ft. low.
Hunting conditions Fair.  20% of reservoir is froze.  Duck Flats Froze. Boat ramps are open.
Expected hunting success Fair.

Cedar Bluff Wildlife Area is in the Low Plains Early Zone

Land Refuge Closed Sept. 1 thru Jan. 31.

Water Refuge Closed Nov.1 Thru Jan. 31.

Land in the North Shore State Park is Closed to Hunting all year.

Youth/Mentor Hunting Areas are available. Check website or contact the Area Office for changes.
