|Paddlefish||Depends on flow||Use a large barbless treble hook and 4-6 oz of weight to snag paddlefish immediately downstream of Chetopa City Dam. Fishing can go from excellent to poor within a few hours depending on flow. Use the link below to monitor river flow. Fishing will be best when discharge is 10,000 to 15,000 cubic feet per second and rising.|
THE SNAGGING SEASON OPENS MARCH 15 AND RUNS THROUGH MAY 15TH.
•Catch and release is allowed on the Neosho River
•A fish must be kept if placed on a stringer. Culling is not allowed.
•A state-issued permit is required. Two paddlefish may be harvested daily and six may be harvested in a season.
•Barbless hooks are required at Chetopa.
