Paddlefish Depends on flow   Use a large barbless treble hook and 4-6 oz of weight to snag paddlefish immediately downstream of Chetopa City Dam. Fishing can go from excellent to poor within a few hours depending on flow. Use the link below to monitor river flow. Fishing will be best when discharge is 10,000 to 15,000 cubic feet per second and rising.

THE SNAGGING SEASON OPENS MARCH 15 AND RUNS THROUGH MAY 15TH.

•Catch and release is allowed on the Neosho River

•A fish must be kept if placed on a stringer. Culling is not allowed.

•A state-issued permit is required. Two paddlefish may be harvested daily and six may be harvested in a season.

•Barbless hooks are required at Chetopa.
