Species Rating Size Baits, Method, & Location
Channel Catfish Good Variety Catfish should be on the summer pattern on dropoffs and channel ledges. Other good spots include the mouth of the river during inflow and the humps on the south side of the reservoir.
Crappie Fair Variety of Sizes - mostly 11 to 12 inches A few fish are being caught on the deep brush.
Trout Slow   The last stocking for the year occurred on the 11th of March.  Please call Jeff at the Cheney Wildlife Area (620-459-6922) for questions regarding trout stockings.  Trout stockings will resume in November.
Walleye/Saugeye Fair Variety, up to 21" Fishing has slowed down. Trolling crankbaits or rattletraps is a productive method as the young shad get larger.
White Bass Good All sizes - up to 17 inches Some white bass have been caught off Loder Point.  Look for white bass chasing shad on the surface around points.
Wiper Fair All sizes Some big wipers have been mixed in with white bass and generally hang below their schools.
