Description:

Located about 2 miles north of Manhattan, east of K-177 (Tuttle Creek Blvd.)

Tuttle Creek State Park offers visitors a wide variety of outdoor recreation possibilities and plenty of room to roam. At about 12,500 acres with 100 miles of rugged, wooded shoreline, Tuttle Creek Reservoir is the second largest body of water in Kansas. The 1,200-acre Tuttle Creek State Park consists of four units – River Pond, Cedar Ridge, Fancy Creek and Randolph. About 20 miles of trails are available, including equestrian, mountain biking, hiking and nature trails. There is a challenging 6-mile long mountain biking/hiking trail at the Fancy Creek Area near Randolph.

Fishing in the reservoir – especially for crappie, channel catfish, flathead catfish and bass – is good, and there is year-round trout fishing in the River Pond area. The wildlife area comprises 12,200 acres with ample opportunity for hunting and wildlife watching.

An 18-hole disc golf course is located in the River Pond Area, and canoe and kayak rentals are available during appropriate weather times in the River Pond Area. The state-of-the-art Fancy Creek Shooting Range is open the first and third full weekends of each month. An archery range is located at River Pond.
