June 5-8 - WAKARUSA Camping & Music Festival - Concert in Picnic Area, Camping in Campground #1. Because of the Wakarusa Festival scheduled here at that time, the concert promoters have contracted our 15 reserveable sites in campground #3 and several others for their use, along with ALL of Campground #1. If you arrive before the Festival and camp in CG#1 you will be required to move into Campground #3 as of Noon on Monday, June 5nd. Camping should be available in Campground #3 on dates before the concert. We're not sure; however of how full the campground will be with our “regular” camping patrons. There are approximately 50 full time Extended Stay Campers and we believe there should be approximately 50 additional utility sites that are not contracted by the Wakarusa Festival promoters that would be on a first come first serve basis. We wouldn't be able to guarantee or reserve a site. If you are planning to attend the festival and do arrive early we would ask that you move to the concert camping area (Campground #1 & general camping field areas near Campground #1) when it opens June 5th or 6th. Because of the thousands of people attending, for your comfort, availability and access to the concert, it would be best. You can call 785/842-WAKA or visit their website www.wakarusafestival.com to get more information regarding camping for the concert. They would be in charge of all aspects of the concert and their camping areas.
