Fairgoers can enter drawing for free state park cabin weekend

HUTCHINSON -- The 2007 Kansas State Fair ā€“ Sept. 7 ā€“ 16 ā€“ offers a huge variety of sights, sounds, food, music and fun for fair visitors. This year, it also offers a chance for a free weekend at a Kansas State Park cabin.

The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks exhibit, located in the Eisenhower Building, will give fairgoers a chance to see replicas of state record fish, breathtaking taxidermy displays of Kansas wildlife, aquaria teeming with dozens of fish species, live snakes on display, and more. In addition, visitors to the KDWP exhibit can submit entries to win a free weekend at a state park cabin.

More than 50 cabins are now available at Kansas state parks, offering park visitors new options for comfortable, enjoyable outdoor recreation. The cabins are built by inmates from the Kansas Department of Correctionsā€™ Hutchinson facility. One newly-completed cabin will be on display at the Department of Corrections exhibit, located west of the Encampment Building at the north end of the fairgrounds near the intersection of 23rd Avenue and Ft. Leavenworth Boulevard.
