Species Rating Size Baits, Methods, and Location
Largemouth Bass Good up to 5 lbs. Spring sampling indicated a fair to good population of largemouth. The population continues to grow. The largest fish sampled was 4lbs. however larger fish were observed but not caught.
Channel Catfish Good up to 15 lbs. The Fall gill net sample indicates a good population of channel catfish. There are many harvestable size fish in the population along with many fish larger than 6 lbs. The largest fish of the sample weighed in at just over 15 lbs.
Crappie Fair up to 14 inches Sampling efforts indicate a large population of crappie with the majority in the 6-8" range, however, larger individuals up to 14" are available.
Wipers Fair up to 5 lbs. Fall sampling indicates a fair population of wipers. Many quality sized wipers should be available from recent stockings.
Current fishing Opportunity      
Largemouth Bass Slow-Fair 8-18" Slow-rolling spinnerbaits or working texas rigged plastics near structure close to deep water.
Channel Catfish Fair up to 12lbs. shad sides or other stinkbait along dropoffs or windy flats. The feeders will not be filled again until May.
Crappie fair up to 12" Fish are still in the pre-spawn pattern and should be feeding to prepare for the spawn. Look for fish along brush piles 8-15 ft. deep using jigs.
Wipers Slow up to 5lbs. Shad imitations in open water or windy points, vertical jigging with spoons


Surface water temp. 55°  The lake is full and is currently muddy after the recent heavy rain event.

Anglers please do your part to stop the spread of aquatic nuisance species (ANS). Clean, Drain, and Dry your boat and livewell after leaving a water body and do not transfer live fish or bait between water bodies.
