Fishing Report - Last Update: 7/25/2014

Species Rating Size Baits, Method, & Location
Channel catfish Good Up to 30" Fishing has been good.  The feeders are full and will go off in the morning and evening.  The lake is an excellent spot for keeper-sized and the occasional trophy-sized channel catfish.
Crappie Fair 8-10" Crappie are offshore in deeper water. A few will remain shallow to feed. The crappie population at McPherson SFL is generally poor; however, a few big crappie were sampled this spring.
Largemouth bass Good Up to 7 lb. Fish should be feeding in the mornings and evenings. Fish with topwater lures early and late.
Saugeye Fair 15-20" No reports. A few saugeye were sampled last fall. Most saugeye are caught by bass anglers. Saugeye seem to like the lower end of the reservoir around rocks.
