Fishing Report - Last Update: 1/23/2015

Species Rating Size Baits, Method, & Location
Crappie No Report Up to 15 inches Vertically fishing jigs, and small slab spoons over the fish attractors has been pretty good for nice sized 12 to 15 inch fish.
Walleye No Report Up to 28 inches Vertically fishing larger slab spoons over mainlake points, drop-offs, and around the fish attractors should be productive.
White Bass/Wipers No Report

Whites up to 17 inches

Wipers up to 13 lbs.

Vertically fishing slab spoons over mainlake points and drop-offs should be best.
Rainbow Trout No Report 0.5 lb. average

We stocked 625 rainbow trout in the stilling basin on 10-31-2014.

Stillfishing powerbait, corn, worms, marshmallows, and combinations of these baits are popular and effective.  Anglers casting small inline spinners and fly anglers fishing small nymphs and wet flies can be successful too.

No trout have been stocked since the initial stocking during late October 2014 due to lack of trout availability and scheduling conflicts with trout vendors.  We are still working to negotiate additional stockings and hope to have more trout stocked by the first week of February.  This stocking date is tentative so check this fishing report in upcoming days as I will publicize the date of the next stocking as soon as a stocking is made.  Sorry for any inconvenience.

Attention:  The stilling basin is 90% ice covered and there is open water against the north wingwall.   The reservoir is 90% ice covered, a hole of open water exists on the main body of the reservoir, and all boat ramps are iced in.  Ice on both the stilling basin and reservoir have undergone substantial melting with the warm weather we've experienced over the past couple of weeks thus no safe ice to support ice fishing activity exists.  Any attempt to get out on either body of water is strongly discouraged.

It is illegal to release fish into public water unless it was taken from that water. So please discard any leftover bait in a trash can.
