We are now located at the new office, which was formerly the visitor center.For more information contact the Park office. The next load of trout will be stocked on 02/28/2014.Meade State Park, in conjunction with all the other State Parks in Kansas, will be hosting our annual Open House on March 29th, 2014. We will open our doors at 7:00am and close at 6:00pm. No Park Permit is required on March 29th. As part of the day we will have a tour of our new office. We will be selling permits, outdoor store items, taking reservations, and answering any questions. We will be having a free drawing for items from our outdoor store. In an effort to help raise money for our OK Kids Day event, we will be hosting a Trout Derby. Registration will be from 7:00am-12:00pm. Entry fees are $10.00/adults and $5.00/children. Prize categories for the adult division are: Biggest Fish and Heaviest Stringer. Participants can only enter one category in the adult division.Prize categories for the kids division are: Biggest Fish and Smallest Fish.You must be registered for the derby in order to be eligible for the prizes.OK Kids Day committee members will be selling hot dogs, chips and water. All proceeds will benefit our OK Kids Day event.Please come out and support KS State Parks.We will be having our annual OK Kids Day event this year on May 10, 2014. No Park Permit is required on May 10th. We will be having many events: archery, trap shoot, bb gun shoot, fishing ponds just to name a few. Our event will kickoff at 9:00am. We will have preregistration on Friday from 4:00pm-9:00pm. Registration will start at 8am on the day of the event. We will have a free lunch provided by local sponsors. So please come enjoy a day of fun with us. We look forward to seeing everyone there.We are allowing camp fires when windy conditions are not present. If windy conditions are present, no ground fires will be allowed. Please check with the office or Park Rangers.The lake is 4.75ft. low.Paddle boat and kayak rentals are now over for the season. All campsites are 1st come 1st serve. Be sure to check the weather before coming out for your outing. Park Staff will do its best to keep everyone informed.Starting August 15th, 2013, office hours will vary throughout the week. Please call before coming out. We will do our best to monitor voice mails and emails.The Park office will be closed on weekends starting October 5th, 2013 until mid-April 2014.The phone number to the park office is 620-873-2572.
