Neosho Wildlife Area Waterfowl Report
|Waterfowl numbers||20,000 mixed ducks. Spring migration is in full swing with a wide variety of species. Canada Goose 800, White Fronted Geese 500 and Snow goose numbers are fluctuating daily.|

|Water level||Refuge pool is Full. Pools 1,2, have had some water removed, Pool 5, 8 and South Unit are dry.|
|Hunting conditions||Area is currently ice free with good spring habitat and water depths.|
|Expected hunting success||4939 ducks were harvested by 2419 hunter trips in the 2013-14 season on Neosho Wildlife Area giving a 2.04 bird/hunter average for the season. In the 17 days of November, 1224 hunters harvested 2384 ducks. In December, 1400 ducks were harvested by 719 hunters. January had 26 days open to hunting which allowed 476 hunters to harvest 1155 ducks.|
South East Zone 2013/2014 regular waterfowl season is CLOSED.
South Unit no longer closes at 1:00 to waterfowl hunting. It is open to all hunting during legal shooting hours.
ALL WATERFOWL HUNTERS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A DAILY PERMIT AND PLEASE REMEMBER TO FILL OUT BOTH PORTIONS OF YOUR CARD WITH ACCURATE INFORMATION. THIS INFORMATION IS VERY IMPORTANT TO THE CURRENT AND FUTURE MANAGEMENT OF THE AREA. FILL OUT ONLY YOUR INDIVIDUAL HARVEST EFFORTS, i.e., NOT A GROUP HARVEST TOTAL.
PUT THE TOP HALF OF THE CARD IN THE BOX BEFORE YOU HUNT AND THE BOTTOM PORTION IN THE BOX FOLLOWING YOUR HUNT. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE INFORMATION ON THESE CARDS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO THE FUTURE MANAGEMENT OF THE AREA.
Waterfowl hunting in Pool 8 is restricted to youth hunters and their mentor on weekends and holidays.
