Elk City Waterfowl Report

Waterfowl numbers 5000-10,000 mallards and a mix of gadwall, pintails and teal.    10,000 snows and a few canada geese.
Water level Reservoir at near pool.
Hunting conditions The reservoir is 15% frozen.  Wetlands have good food and water.  
Expected hunting success Fair.  Area ponds are open and some birds are dispersing to private feed fields, ponds and the rivers during the day.
Comments For updated waterfowl numbers and weather conditions call (620) 331-6820. Individuals utilizing the wildlife area need to be aware of the refuge boundaries. Maps can be obtained at the Fisheries & Wildlife office (below the dam) or at the State Park (on the lake side).
