Fishing Report - Last Update: 4/17/2014

Species Rating Size Baits, Method, & Location
Channel Catfish Fair 16-24 inches Chicken livers and shrimp have produced nice fish in shallow areas near deeper channels. The peninsula on the west side of the lake and biggest cove on the east side have been the most popular places.
Largemouth and Spotted Bass Fair 10-22 inches Look for fish holding on rocky shorelines on sunny days.  Slow presentations will be most effective.
Crappie Fair 8-14 inches Crappie are mostly offshore, but some have been caught in shallow water as well. Look for more fish to feed in shallow water as the lake warms.
General Comments

Both channel catfish and hybrid catfish are present.  Hybrid catfish can be identified by a vertical brand behind their right pectoral fin under their dorsal fin.  Channel catfish stocked in 2013 can be identified by a similar vertical mark except behind their left pectoral fin.  Both species have their adipose fin clipped.  Harvest regulations for channel catfish, blue catfish, and their hybrids in Wilson County State Fishing Lake include a 15" minimum length limit and a five fish daily creel.

Both maintained boat ramps are currently usable.
