Species Rating Size Baits, Method, & Location
Channel Catfish Fair Up to 5 lb. Look for channel catfish on ledges and in shallow water at night.
Wiper Fair Up to 10 lb. Look for wipers lakewide.  Use jigging spoons or crankbaits and look for surfacing fish in the evenings. The wiper population at Wellington is excellent, with fantastic numbers of fish of all sizes. Small plastics and spoons are good baits.
Crappie Fair Up to 14" Crappie are spread out on the rocks and brush.
Saugeye Fair Up to 5 lb. Saugeye fishing has been average. Jigging in the dam cut has produced some fish. The fish are either older, good-sized fish or cigar-sized from last year's stocking. 
Flathead Catfish Fair all sizes Use lively bait near structure. Fish of 60+ lb are in the lake.
