Underwater in Kansas: An Angler's Dream

   

Large natural concentrations of black crappie, white crappie, and bluegill with channel catfish and walleye captured on video in a Kansas reservoir.

Bluegill Fair to Good up to 7-inch Worm and bobber near any available cover.
Crappie Fair up to 11-inch Jigs or minnows in water 7 to 12 feet deep along the dam, in brushpiles, or other cover.  Fish will be heading to shallow water soon to spawn.
Channel catfish Fair to Good up to 4 lbs Stinkbaits and cut bait in shallow windblown areas.
Largemouth bass Fair up to 16-inch Jig and plastics, plastic worms, and crankbaits.
Spotted bass      
Walleye Slow to Fair Up to 22-inch The spawn is winding down and walleye will soon be heading to the flats.  A jig and crawler combo is effective when drifted or worked along breaks or weedlines.  Trolling crankbaits is a good method to find active fish.
